Export Watch for Rock RMS

Know When Data Leaves Your Rock

Your staff export data from Rock every day, and most of the time that’s exactly what should happen. Export Watch is a Rock RMS plugin from 9 Embers that records every grid export (who ran it, what was in it, and where it came from) and lets the people responsible for your church’s data know about it.

It doesn’t block or slow down a single download. It just makes sure you’re not the last to find out.

What happens to church data after it’s exported from Rock?

Once data leaves Rock, you no longer control where it goes or how long it’s kept. And out of the box, Rock doesn’t record that it left.

Imagine a volunteer coordinator who needs to email her team. They exports a list from Rock to Excel, which takes about three seconds, and pastes it into an AI tool to help draft the message. Names, phone numbers, addresses and maybe attendance are now somewhere outside your church. They meant well. But nobody responsible for your data knows it happened.

Export Watch tracks Rock’s export buttons. It doesn’t see copy and paste, screenshots, or data pulled through the API, SQL or Power BI.

How does Export Watch notify your team?

Export Watch emails the people you choose each time data is exported, or sends a single daily summary if you’d rather not get pinged all day.

Export Watch report also lets you filter by date range and person. It’s not about catching anyone out. It’s about having the information you need for a good conversation with staff and volunteers about how church data gets used.

Export Watch works with Rock 17.0 and later. Install it from the Rock Shop, add your notification team, and exports start getting recorded as soon as Rock restarts.
